A couple from Stoke-on-Trent had a narrow escape during their Caribbean cruise. Their tourist train derailed, but thankfully, they managed to get off safely.

Stoke-on-Trent: A couple had quite the scare on their holiday. Roy Simpson and his partner Christine were enjoying a Marella cruise when things took a wild turn.
While on a tourist train in St Kitts, the train suddenly derailed. Roy shared how the train stopped abruptly, then rolled back after a few minutes.
He described the scene, saying workmen had to run for safety as the train tilted. They had just crossed a bridge with steep drops on both sides. Talk about a close call!
Roy, in his 60s, mentioned that no staff checked on them. They were left in the dark about what was happening. Eventually, buses arrived to help them get back to the cruise ship.
The couple had paid £100 each for the trip, but TUI refunded them after the incident. Thankfully, reports say there were no serious injuries from the derailment.
It seems heavy rain may have caused track issues, leading to the derailment. Authorities are currently investigating the situation.
Another passenger shared on social media that while there were some injuries, nothing serious occurred. They’re all waiting to hear the investigation’s findings.
