A North Staffordshire primary school is getting praise for its community spirit. Pupils not only clean up litter but also performed Shakespeare’s King Lear at a local theater.

North Staffordshire: An inspector recently praised Alsagers Bank Primary Academy. They called it a “happy and welcoming” school. Pupils are actively involved in their community, picking up litter and even performing Shakespeare.
The latest Ofsted report shows the school has kept its good standards. It was previously rated as good back in 2017. Staff were encouraged to help students learn more broadly, especially in subjects beyond English and math.
Some students still need to catch up on prior learning. This makes it tough for them to remember key information for new lessons. However, the report noted that kids are doing well and enjoying a variety of subjects.
At Alsagers Bank, students work hard and have high expectations. They build strong relationships with teachers and each other, creating a caring environment. Leadership roles let them contribute positively to the school and community.
For instance, the ‘Eco-Leaders’ collect litter and promote recycling. They even plant trees and flowers to help clean the air. Reading is also a big focus, with extra help for those who need it.
Year 6 students were excited about their performance of King Lear at a local theater. The school is part of The Societas Trust, which manages several primary schools in the area.
Headteacher Lisa Chell expressed delight at the recognition from Ofsted. Jon Lovatt, the CEO of The Societas Trust, also appreciated the collaborative culture among staff. It’s clear that everyone is proud to be part of this school.
