Congleton: Neil ‘Nello’ Baldwin, the beloved former Stoke City kitman, was there to open a new food store. He cut the ribbon at the new Central Co-op store, and everyone was excited.

This store has a lot to offer. There’s a noticeboard, a free bike repair station, and a fresh bakery. Plus, they have customer toilets and a water refill station. You can even grab hot food and drinks!

They’ve created 16 new jobs, which is great for the area. Students from Havannah Primary School helped with the ribbon-cutting too. Central Co-op’s president and CEO were there, sharing their excitement about this new store.

Store manager Janine Cartlidge-Dean expressed her joy about opening in Cheshire. She said it’s not just a store; it’s a place for the community to gather. They want to make a positive impact.

The store used to be a data center but has been transformed into a welcoming space. They’ve added a new roof, walls, and a fresh exterior. The parking lot now has 16 spaces, including spots for disabled visitors.

In a few weeks, they’ll even install six electric vehicle charging points. If you want to know more about Central Co-op or become a member, check out their website.
